New Workplace - More security and convenience

Following the loss of data due to a ransomware attack, Schreinerei Spicher AG needed a comprehensive renewal of its IT landscape, which was to be realised by a new IT provider. The traumatic experience of the attack and the realisation that any company could be hit at any time had created a significantly increased need for security.

In addition, communication between employees and partners was to be improved and the many possibilities of a cloud solution utilised. Baggenstos' expertise in the cloud and security environment and the proposed solution with Microsoft 365 and Veeam Backup were convincing and could be implemented quickly.

Initial situation and objective

Following data loss due to a ransomware attack, the Spicher joinery needed a comprehensive renewal of its IT landscape. The modernization also had to focus on viable security solutions. The goal was to implement a solution that would also withstand the increasing demands on modern communication and IT security in the future. Our Managed Services with the Operation Care model provided the optimal basis for modernization into a New Workplace.

Solutions

With the introduction of Microsoft 365, internal and external corporate communication for Schreinerei Spicher AG was taken to the next level. In part, old desktop PCs were also replaced with new notebooks in this context. With the introduction of Intune and MFA, Spicher AG now also has a new security solution that meets current requirements. For regular backups of internal and sensitive company data, we implemented the backup solution with Veeam. Finally, the project was successfully completed with the transfer of the previous IT organization into an OCV.

Results

With the implementation of the "New Workplace" project, IT security was significantly increased. On the other hand, new IT processes were introduced and existing ones were significantly simplified. This is particularly noticeable in the areas of procurement, staging, SW distribution and ticketing. The shortening of communication channels has increased productivity in the core business.

Challenges

What was challenging about the project was that no IT documentation existed.

More time for innovation with our Operation Care

With Managed Service Operation Care, the professional operation of the IT infrastructure could be ensured at an all-inclusive package .

The dedicated service manager is the point of contact for any escalations, ensures ongoing optimisation of the support and operating processes and accompanies the innovative joinery in the further development of its IT infrastructure.

The Baggenstos operations team takes care of day-to-day operations and provides rapid support in the event of a fault. Industry-recognised best practices are applied and clearly defined service levels (SLA) are adhered to.

This means that management does not have to deal with support and operational tasks and can instead focus on innovation and creating added value for the company.
