What is Microsoft Copilot and how does it help companies?
Microsoft Copilot is the AI integrated into Microsoft 365: summarising Teams meetings, drafting emails in Outlook, creating Word documents from notes, analysing data in Excel. Copilot works exclusively with your company data and does not use it for model training. We support the pilot, rollout and productive use.
What is the difference between the free version and Microsoft 365 Copilot?
The free version (formerly Bing Chat) is an AI assistant without access to company data. Microsoft 365 Copilot is integrated into Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook and works with your files in SharePoint, OneDrive and emails. Only the paid version knows your business context and can be secured in compliance with the FADP.
What is the difference between ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot in everyday work?
ChatGPT (OpenAI) is standalone and has no access to company data – employees paste text into it, which leads to shadow IT and data protection issues. Microsoft 365 Copilot runs inside your Microsoft apps, knows your documents and is subject to your security policies. Prompts do not leave your tenant.
How do we ensure data protection when using Microsoft AI?
Three levels: First, Copilot does not use your prompts and data for model training. Second, Copilot respects your Microsoft 365 permissions – anyone without access to a document will not see it in a Copilot result either. Third, Microsoft Purview protects sensitive content from AI access.
