What does an Azure managed service cost?
That depends on the size of your environment and the service scope. We work with a monthly amount per workload or environment, plus the Azure consumption costs, which we bill transparently as a CSP partner. In an initial consultation we define your exact scope and create a quote with no grey areas. Many customers reduce their running costs because we actively optimise resources and identify unused services.
What is the difference between Microsoft Azure and an on-premises solution?
Azure is a cloud platform: you pay for the resources you use instead of for hardware that ages. Scaling happens in minutes, not weeks. Disaster recovery, updates and physical security are included in operations. On-premises means your own hardware and investment cycles every 5 years. Hybrid combines both.
How does an Azure managed service work and what does it include?
As Microsoft Azure experts we operate your Azure environment in full: compute, storage, networking, security, hybrid operations. Proactive monitoring detects issues before you notice them. Patches and backups run automatically. A personal service manager coordinates everything, with monthly reporting and FinOps optimisation.
What is an Azure landing zone and why is it important before migration?
A landing zone is the prepared foundation of your Azure environment: network segmentation, identity structure, security baseline, governance and cost model. Without a landing zone you migrate into chaos that is hard to correct later. We build it according to the Cloud Adoption Framework and your compliance requirements.
Where is our company data stored with Microsoft Azure?
In the Microsoft data centres in Zurich and Geneva. Your data does not leave Switzerland unless you explicitly request it. Microsoft operates both regions geo-redundantly: if one region fails, the other takes over. This way you meet the revised FADP and regulations such as FINMA or ISO 27001 by default.
Does Microsoft Azure offer backup solutions for the Swiss location?
Yes. Azure Backup stores backups in the Swiss Azure regions (Zurich or Geneva). For higher requirements we combine Azure Backup with Veeam Backup & Replication: tested recovery, central reporting, ransomware protection through immutable backups. Your data does not leave Switzerland.
Can we continue using our existing servers and applications?
In most cases, yes. With lift & shift we migrate your servers 1:1 into the cloud, without changes to your applications. For systems that cannot be migrated directly, we examine hybrid options with Azure Arc or Azure Stack. We assess every application during the assessment and recommend the right approach. No pressure for unnecessary modernisations when lift & shift is enough.
