How the HR consulting company migrated six locations to a single Managed Cloud Workplace with Baggenstos and massively reduced its support effort.

The Avenir Group is an owner-managed consulting and service company focused on human resources management. Around 80 employees at six locations across Switzerland provide a wide range of proven and innovative HR solutions.
Until now, Avenir has worked with various providers of e-mail, data storage and other applications. Installations of PCs and notebooks were done manually, which led to different configurations and a correspondingly high support effort. The actual security of the data also no longer met the high requirements of the HR sector.

Starting point and objectives
Up to now, Avenir has worked with various providers for e-mail, data storage and other applications. Installations of PCs and notebooks were done manually, leading to different configurations and a correspondingly high support effort. Also, security of the data was no longer meeting the high requirements of the HR sector.
Solution
The decision about the new solution was made swiftly and fell on our managed cloud workplace service. With this, Avenir’s employees and customers can now easily exchange information regardless of location. All participants can always work using the latest software and hardware, and also have their office disposable wherever they may be.
Whether on the mobile phone, laptop, tablet or home PC, all of these devices can also be used to work offline. The data is synchronized as soon as an Internet connection is re-established and the end devices both encrypted and constantly updated. This emsures that all sensitive company data enjoys the greatest possible protection at all times. Thanks to the Microsoft cloud products used (Office 365, Windows 10/E3 and Azure Active Directory), the solution will constantly adapt to the growth and needs of the company.
Results
The migration to the managed cloud workplace took place during ongoing business operations and was realized in these steps:
• Creating the prerequisites for the client setup (Office 365, Windows 10/E3 Azure AD integration)
• Setting up the client management and software distribution solution, Microsoft Intune, and Endpoint Protection for virus detection
• Replacement and data migration from the existing Exchange solution
• Replacement and data migration from the existing SharePoint solution
• Delivery of the operational clients to the users
• User training
Challenges
The management of Avenir set the following goals for the new ICT solution:
• No local server infrastructure
• Staff productivity, mobility, data consistency and security to have absolute priority
• Access to data and applications to be possible anytime, anywhere and on all end devices (mobile phone, PC/notebook, tablet)
Managed Service as a basis for future success
The infrastructure is operated through our Managed Cloud Workplace service. Our operations team takes care of the daily operation and provides rapid support in the event of a malfunction. Quality is guaranteed using industry-recognized best practices and clearly defined service levels (SLA). The permanently assigned Baggenstos Service Manager takes care of any escalations, ensures the continuous optimization of support and operational processes, and also accompanies Avenir in the further development of its IT infrastructure.
