Network Assessment
Clarity on Your Network Infrastructure
Networks evolve over years. Firewall rules are added but rarely cleaned up. New locations are integrated, remote access is layered onto the old VPN, and IoT devices end up in the same segment as the mail server. Eventually, nobody knows what's truly active on the network or where the vulnerabilities lie.
During the network assessment, we analyze your current infrastructure in a single day, identifying the biggest risks and opportunities for efficiency gains. You'll receive a concrete action plan with prioritized recommendations and a binding offer.
How the Assessment Works
We begin by inventorying your firewall rules, switches, Wi-Fi coverage, and access architecture. We gain an understanding of your current network structure, identify which hardware is still viable, and pinpoint areas where manual configurations have, over the years, created a confusing patchwork. Existing cabling and infrastructure can typically be reused.
The second step involves a security assessment: identifying vulnerabilities, missing segmentation, and uncontrolled access. We place a particular focus on remote access and whether traditional VPN is still suitable or should be replaced by Zero Trust Network Access. Guest access, IoT devices, and printers are also included in the analysis, as every unsegmented device represents a potential entry point.
Ultimately, you'll receive an action plan with specific recommendations, a timeline, and a transparent cost estimate. You'll know if your network needs modernization, where to begin, and what the investment will be. Often, much of your existing hardware can be repurposed, while critical components like firewalls and Wi-Fi are replaced with centrally managed Fortinet solutions.
From Assessment to Integrated Network Platform
The assessment is your starting point. For implementation, you'll benefit from our experience as a Fortinet Expert Partner: Firewall, switches, access points, and Network Access Control are all sourced from a single vendor and managed via a central console. Combined with Microsoft Global Secure Access, this creates an end-to-end architecture from your local network to cloud access.

Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly does Baggenstos do?
Baggenstos is a Swiss IT service provider with a Microsoft focus. We guide SMEs to the cloud, manage their IT infrastructure as a service, and secure them with our b.Secure concept. One close-knit team, one location in Wallisellen, one goal: simple, secure, cloud-based IT. 100 years of history, self-financed and independent.
Which companies are the right fit for Baggenstos?
For Swiss SMEs with 50 to 500 employees looking to professionalize their IT operations. Equally for enterprise customers seeking proven professional services and deep Microsoft 365 and Azure expertise for demanding projects. Whether you're just starting your cloud journey or already using Microsoft 365 and want to outsource its management. We are the ideal partner if Microsoft is central to your IT strategy and you're seeking a long-term operational partner, not just a project service provider.
Why does Baggenstos work with Microsoft?
Because focus leads to better quality. We don't do SAP, no Salesforce, no jack-of-all-trades. Instead, we know every license type, every Azure configuration and every Teams nuance in depth. This deep specialization in the Microsoft ecosystem is reviewed year after year and confirmed with Solutions Partner designations.
What sets Baggenstos apart from other IT service providers?
Three key aspects: First, our consistent focus on Microsoft, backed by annually audited certifications. Second, our Managed Service model, which includes a personal Service Manager and a monthly review meeting. We don't disappear after the project. Third, 100 years of continuity, owned by the family and management, self-financed and independent of investors or corporate decisions.
How does a collaboration with Baggenstos work?
It all begins with an initial consultation. Based on your needs, this leads to an assessment or workshop where we analyze your current situation and develop a roadmap. We then proceed with phased implementation, supported by a dedicated contact person and a clear timeline. Following this, 80% of our clients continue to work with us long-term through our Managed Service.
What does a collaboration with Baggenstos cost?
It depends on the scope. We bill Managed Services monthly per workplace; projects are based on a clearly defined scope and budget. In an initial consultation, we work out together what you need, and you receive a transparent offer. No hidden setup fees, no surprises on your invoice. We explain the exact pricing logic on the respective service pages.
Where is our data stored?
In Microsoft data centers in Switzerland. Microsoft operates two data centers in Zurich and Geneva. Your data remains in Switzerland, in compliance with Swiss data protection law. We configure your environment to ensure data residency meets your regulatory requirements. Upon request, we also advise on industry-specific compliance requirements.
