How the Swiss telecommunications service provider migrated its entire ICT infrastructure to the Baggenstos platform one month earlier than planned.

Total Care from Baggenstos – the all-round, worry-free package: as the contract with the existing outsourcer was expiring, Enkom began looking for a new partner for its ICT infrastructure early in the year. In a rigorous selection process, our offer came out on top.

Starting Point and Objective
As the contract with the existing outsourcer was expiring, Enkom began looking for a new partner for its ICT infrastructure early in the year.
Solution
For a monthly flat fee, Enkom receives the following under Total Care:
- The migration from the existing provider to our ICT infrastructure in the data centre in Glattbrugg
- The complete company network
- An all-round, worry-free package for operations over the coming years
- ICT strategy consulting at management level
- Migration in three months
On 3 June – one month earlier than originally planned – the Enkom employees were able to continue working on their new HP notebooks, with Windows 8.1, Office 365 and the Lync 2013 communications platform for VoIP telephony, right where they had left off before Ascension Day. The “big bang switchover” was, apart from a few initial difficulties, a complete success.
Results
Hybrid cloud solution for security and flexibility: the central infrastructure in the data centre in Glattbrugg consists of a hybrid private and public cloud solution. It was implemented with the latest Microsoft technology (Windows Server 2012 R2, Hyper-V virtualisation and System Center 2012 R2). HP products were used as the hardware platform: ProLiant Gen 8 servers, HP Networking and 3PAR storage components.
Managed Service as the Basis for Future Success
The infrastructure is operated with our Operation Care Managed Service. Our operations team takes care of day-to-day operations and provides rapid support in the event of an incident. Quality is guaranteed through industry-recognised best practices and clearly defined service levels (SLAs). The permanently assigned Baggenstos service manager handles any escalations, ensures the ongoing optimisation of support and operational processes, and supports Enkom AG in the further development of its IT infrastructure.
