Baggenstos Team at Ignite: Microsoft’s AI Vision, Agents and More Security
Microsoft showcased a wealth of innovations at its Ignite conference – including AI agents for Office apps and lower prices for Copilot Business for SMEs with up to 300 employees. Sven Heeb, Lead Project Management & Cloud Solution Architect, and Christian Schärer, Lead Engineering & Project Manager, attended Ignite 2025 in San Francisco on behalf of Baggenstos.
More than 20,000 people visited Microsoft’s annual industry conference, which this year featured over 400 sessions dedicated primarily to artificial intelligence across the Microsoft ecosystem. Right in the middle of it all: our human agents Sven and Christian.
New Artificial Colleagues
Microsoft expects millions of AI agents to be working in offices worldwide by 2028. These must be centrally managed: “Agent 365” acts as a kind of HR department for AI agents. Its dashboard shows how each agent is performing – each one has its own Entra identity. The tool also handles security and compliance. It is already available via Microsoft’s “Frontier” programme.
Sven Heeb’s highlight: Security Copilot. It is now included in the E5 plan and is therefore immediately available to many organisations. “A decisive step,” says Sven. You can find more in his LinkedIn post from Ignite.
Microsoft is adding fourteen new agents to Security Copilot, including the Change Review Agent and the Risky Sign-in User Review Agent. These support assessment and protection of user activities. The Security Store provides a unified catalogue of all available agents, ready to deploy directly via the platform. Rollout begins in early 2026.

Copilot Becomes Even Smarter
Microsoft is launching Copilot Business for companies with up to 300 users – with a price reduction of USD 9 per user per month. A Microsoft 365 Business licence is required. “This significantly lowers the barrier for SMEs and makes Copilot widely accessible,” says Sven.
Another insight from the Baggenstos team on site: Copilot is becoming more capable. Excel, Word and PowerPoint are receiving substantial upgrades; the AI provides more personalised support and a deeper understanding of context. It can generate entire documents autonomously. Routine tasks can be automated, easing day-to-day workloads. With the new agent platform, Copilot’s strengths really start to unfold – whether for small applications, developers, or process design.
Microsoft also introduced three new intelligence layers:
- Work IQ improves Copilot’s suggestions based on work patterns and preferences.
- Fabric IQ unifies analytics, geospatial, time-series and operational data in a single model.
- Foundry IQ creates a unified knowledge layer across SharePoint, OneLake and various other sources.
Generating full documents from just a few keywords: a real boost for everyday office work.
AI Integrated into Windows
Microsoft also presented Canvas, a workspace with integrated AI for brainstorming and complex tasks. Running in an isolated Windows environment, the platform supports autonomous agents and enables efficient, intelligent workflows.
Copilot is being integrated everywhere: into the taskbar with notifications, File Explorer, PowerPoint (direct interaction) and the notification centre. PDFs can now be exported directly into Excel. Microsoft is also adding features such as Copilot Writing Assistance, which simplifies creating and editing documents.
A mid-conference conclusion from Sven and Christian: “AI is becoming more personal. Data becomes more understandable.” Processes are easier to modernise. Ignite clearly shows a direction that will strongly shape our everyday lives.”
Intune Features – Without AI
Beyond the omnipresent AI theme, Sven and Christian discovered other innovations valuable to Baggenstos customers. One highlight: Windows Maintenance in Intune. This new feature introduces something entirely new for the operation of Cloud PCs and later Windows devices. It defines a dedicated maintenance window during which systems may perform scheduled maintenance – ensuring users are protected from interruptions. Cloud PC actions are shifted to quiet periods. “This delivers clear control and predictability,” says Sven. “Operations become calmer and more reliable.” However, the feature currently only applies to Cloud PCs and not all Intune actions.
Another exciting update: Windows Backup for Organisations. Microsoft now offers a simple, reliable solution to back up device data when managed via Intune. It ensures important user settings, apps and configurations are securely stored in the cloud – for all Entra ID-joined devices.
Equally important to Christian: Windows 365 Reserve, which allows organisations to reserve Cloud PCs in advance. Each licence covers up to ten such reserved Cloud PCs per year. “This ensures staff remain productive during outages or peak periods,” says Christian.
Microsoft follows a strong vision: AI becomes a true colleague in the enterprise.
A Well-Earned Break at John’s Grill Steak
Unlike AI agents, humans get tired and hungry. At John’s Grill Steak – only two decades older than Baggenstos – Sven and Christian digest everything they’ve seen and heard and draw an initial conclusion.
The Ignite demonstrated Microsoft’s impressive leadership in the AI market, they agree. “Microsoft is following a strong vision.” However, what will ultimately prevail in the market remains to be seen. As Forrest Gump famously said: the future is like a box of chocolates.
Precisely because Baggenstos stays close to its customers – even during Ignite, our human agents continue working through their task lists – the teams only implement what delivers real value. “Technology is never an end in itself,” says Sven Heeb. “It’s people that matter,” adds Christian.
