Microsoft price adjustments from April 2025 – what you need to know

Price adjustment for monthly billing of annual subscriptions

Until now, customers had the option of paying for annual subscriptions either in advance for one year or in monthly instalments, with the same price applying. This is changing from 1 April 2025: now, a surcharge of 5% compared to the annual advance payment will be charged for the monthly billing of the annual subscription.

The following products, among others, are affected:

• Microsoft 365
• Office 365
• Enterprise Mobility + Security
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Services
• Windows 365

New prices for selected Microsoft services

In addition to the changes to the billing method, there are also general price adjustments for certain products. The new prices in US dollars are as follows (the prices in Swiss francs are not yet available):

• Teams Phone Standard: USD 10/user/month
• Teams Phone Standard for Frontline Workers: USD 5/user/month
• Teams Phone with Calling Plan (international): USD 34/user/month
• Power BI Pro: USD 14/user/month
• Power BI Premium per User: USD 24/user/month

What does this mean for you? Mind the deadline!

• Existing subscriptions: the new prices apply from your next renewal after 1 April 2025.
• Opportunity to save: those who switch to annual advance payment save 5% compared to monthly billing.

If you currently pay for your annual subscription monthly, you should decide in good time whether you want to switch to annual advance payment. Let us know your desired payment method at least 30 days before the renewal of your subscription. Otherwise, your subscription will automatically be renewed at the new monthly price (including the 5 percent surcharge).
