Local variations may apply, as the Swiss price structure has not yet been confirmed. Baggenstos is ready to support customers in reviewing their licences and identifying optimisation opportunities.
In recent years, Microsoft has significantly expanded its capabilities, particularly in artificial intelligence, security, threat protection and device management. The upcoming price changes reflect these enhancements. And there’s more to come: Nicole Herskowitz, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft 365 and Copilot, explains: “Today we are announcing expanded availability of AI, security and management features that will be integrated into Microsoft 365 offerings in 2026. With these innovations, we will also adjust our commercial prices for Microsoft 365 suite subscriptions effective 1 July 2026. We are sharing these updates now to give customers sufficient time to plan.”
“When you factor in the added value, the price rise is moderate,” says Othmar Frey, CSO at Baggenstos. “As a technology leader, Microsoft ensures continuous improvements in productivity and security for SMEs.” All pricing plans will receive Copilot Chat enhancements in 2026. Additional updates in security, management and analytics will follow. Key improvements include:
- URL scanning in Outlook and Office apps for better phishing protection (Business Basic, Business Standard and Office 365 E1).
- 50 GB of additional mailbox storage for Business plans.
- New capabilities for Intune endpoint management in the E3 and E5 plans.
- Microsoft Security Copilot included in the E5 licence, delivered with over 70 preconfigured agents from Microsoft and partners.
Baggenstos will support customers in optimising their licensing landscape from summer 2026 onwards—ensuring the added value significantly outweighs the costs. “There is substantial potential,” says Othmar Frey. “In particular, the lower price of Microsoft 365 Copilot Business should be carefully considered.”
