For the third year in a row, Gartner has named Microsoft a Leader in the Desktop as a Service (DaaS) Magic Quadrant – a recognition that also reflects the strength of our partnership at Baggenstos.
According to the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Desktop as a Service 2025, Microsoft remains the clear frontrunner in the shift from traditional on-premises desktops to cloud-based workplaces. Analysts predict that by 2027, virtual desktops will be cost-effective for 95% of users, and cloud workplaces will be standard for 20% of the workforce — twice as many as in 2019.

Where DaaS Adoption Is Growing
Gartner estimates that Microsoft’s installed DaaS base is distributed across North America (60%), Europe (30%), and the rest of the world (10%). Most organisations deploying digital workplaces employ between 100 and 5,000 staff. Key industries for Microsoft include financial services, the public sector, and consulting and business services.
