Microsoft’s internal Secure Future Initiative (SFI) is progressing rapidly. Security in Entra ID and Microsoft Accounts is being reinforced through multiple measures. For example, Microsoft has cleaned up millions of inactive cloud tenants: Over 88% of resources have been migrated to Azure Resource Manager and 6.3 million tenants have been removed. All new tenants are now automatically enrolled in Microsoft’s internal security incident response system.
Additionally, all Entra ID apps now leverage automated lifecycle management, and identity authentication is restricted to specific network locations.

For customers, Microsoft is also delivering new ways to secure cloud-based business and IT operations. The latest innovation: Microsoft Security Copilot, integrated with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra. Entra enforces identity access via conditional access and precise authentication controls. Security Copilot in Intune introduces a powerful new data exploration capability. IT admins can query data, take action, and execute management tasks directly within the Admin Center—all without disrupting their workflow. Security Copilot in Microsoft Entra provides AI-driven reasoning, natural language prompts, and real-time insights into the identity and access environment. It better understands user intent and delivers clearer answers, whether investigating users, troubleshooting sign-ins, managing access reviews and permissions, or monitoring tenant health.
